Elizabeth and Mary: Royal Cousins Rival Queens – Digital Tour.
British Library, London (ONLINE EVENT). Our exhibition may be closed but you can still hop onto our digital tour. Step back into a dangerous world of plots, espionage and treachery without stepping out of your front door. This digital tour takes you through our exhibition for a fresh and revealing look at the extraordinary relationship between cousins Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots. Over half an hour, curator Andrea Clarke leads you through letters and speeches, items of jewellery belonging to each queen, a wall-hanging embroidered by Mary during her imprisonment, and models of Elizabeth and Mary’s tomb effigies from Westminster Abbey, where the queens finally rest. You can buy your digital tour in our online Shop and watch at a time that suits you. Subtitled and audio described versions of the tour are included. Tickets: 6.50 (Members: Free) (01937 546546) https://www.bl.uk/events/elizabeth-and-mary-royal-cousins-rival-queens-digital-tour

13 October. Anti-Racist Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare’s Globe, London. Our free Anti-Racist Shakespeare webinars bring you a range of perspectives from scholars and artists about Shakespeare’s plays and how they engage with the topics of race and identity. In this webinar, Globe scholars will be joined by theatre artists and scholars to discuss race and social justice in Much Ado About Nothing. 6.00pm (running time approximately 1 hour). 7 November. Director Talk: A Christmas Carol. Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Online or onstage in the theatre auditorium. Discover more about the plays on stage in our pre-show talks with the Director. We offer talks with members of each show's director and/or writer in conversation, talking about some of the influences and decisions that have created the production. From rehearsal room processes and design choices, to characterisation and relationships this is a fascinating insight into the creative process. 5.15pm - 6pm. 12 November. Unwrapped: A Christmas Carol. Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Online or onstage in the theatre auditorium.  Our Unwrapped demonstrations offer a peek into the rehearsal room, with the Assistant Director and members of the cast looking at moments from the play. They give an insight into how a scene is taken off the page and onto the stage and show the type of exercises and discussion that took place during rehearsals.
